The Reverend Steven M. Cheek, Sr. was ordained into the gospel ministry in December of 1985 by Calvary Baptist Church in Covington, Georgia. Pastor Steve has served in numerous churches and ministries over the past forty years and has been here at the First Baptist Church of Montmorenci for over three years, serving in the capacity of pastor. Apart from his role in the church, Pastor Steve has been teaching music for over 23 years in the public school system, directing choral, instrumental, string, and percussion ensembles.
Pastor Cheek holds a Bachelor of Music (B.Mu.) degree in Choral Music Education from Georgia State University and a Master of Religious Education (MRE) degree from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.
