Rev. Steve Cheek

Pastor

The Reverend Steven M. Cheek, Sr. was ordained into the gospel ministry in December of 1985 by Calvary Baptist Church in Covington, Georgia.

Pastor Steve has served in numerous churches and ministries over the past forty years and has been here at the First Baptist Church of Montmorenci for over five years, serving in the capacity of pastor. Apart from his role in the church, Pastor Steve has been teaching music for well over two decades in the public school system, directing choral, wind, string, and percussion ensembles. 

Pastor Cheek holds a Bachelor of Music (B.Mu.) degree in Choral Music Education from Georgia State University and a Master of Religious Education (M.R.E.) degree from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.

Steve resides in Aiken, South Carolina with his wife, Tammie.

Rev. Logan C. Ford

Director of Music

The Reverend Logan C. Ford was ordained into the gospel ministry in May of 2023 by the First Baptist Church of Montmorenci, South Carolina.

Rev. Ford has been serving in the field of music ministries for over 12 years, being called to the gospel ministry at the age of 14. Since then, he has been serving in church music administration. He has formerly served as the Assistant Minister of Music and Choir Director at Central Baptist Church in Aiken, South Carolina, and as the Interim Minister of Music at Coastal Shores Baptist Church in North Charleston, South Carolina. Ford served as the Interim Minister of Music here at the First Baptist Church of Montmorenci from July 2019 until September 2019, where he joined the church and accepted the call to be Minister of Music.

Apart from his career in ministry, Logan is an administrative professional, having experience in both higher education administration and non-profit administration and development. Logan also serves in numerous organizations within his community, such as booster clubs, nonprofit boards, military support groups, and a city appeal board. Being a musician and advocate of arts and education, Logan also serves as a seasonal violinist with the Aiken Civic Orchestra, a tenor vocalist with the South Boundary Singers, and freelance musician in the CSRA area.
